How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Business Analyst (Digital Engineering / Software Engineering) – Reading (Hybrid)

    Location: Reading, Berkshire (RG2)
    Rate: Up to £68.80 per hour
    Clearance: Active SC required

    Overview

    We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support digital engineering and software engineering activities across sensitive MOD and aerospace programmes. You’ll take ownership of requirements definition and governance across the engineering lifecycle, ensuring full traceability from stakeholder need through to implementation and verification.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Capture, analyse, document, and maintain system and software requirements

    * Manage baselines, change requests, and impact assessments

    * Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability across lifecycle artefacts

    * Support requirements decomposition and allocation activities

    * Participate in reviews, validation, and verification activities

    * Coordinate with software development, systems engineering, and V&V teams

    * Support governance activities including audits and traceability reviews

    * Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve requirements-related issues

    Required Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience in business analysis / requirements engineering (systems + software)

    * Strong knowledge of:

    * Requirements elicitation, management, traceability, and change control

    * Systems engineering principles

    * Requirements management tooling (e.g., DOORS-type tools or equivalents)

    * Background delivering within aerospace/defence environments (MOD / Defence Digital / UK aerospace)

    * Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills

    * Active SC clearance (DV advantageous)

    Desirable

    * Experience working in regulated development environments

    * TOGAF and/or ArchiMate

    * Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / digital engineering concepts
