How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Solar Electrician – New Build Housing

    Salary: up to £52,000 Basic + 10% Performance Bonus OR £250 a day
    Benefits: Company Van & Fuel Card, 23 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Electricians to join a growing renewable energy team who work across new build residential developments from Northamptonshire, to Reading and across to East Anglia. ( engineers are kept local )

    This role focuses on the second-fix installation, testing, commissioning and handover of Solar PV systems on newly constructed homes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring installations are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance before customer handover.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician looking to develop a long-term career within the renewable energy sector while working on large-scale residential projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out second-fix electrical works on residential Solar PV installations.

    * Test, inspect and commission Solar PV systems on new build properties.

    * Complete electrical certification and commissioning documentation.

    * Diagnose and rectify installation faults where required.

    * Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and industry standards.

    * Liaise professionally with site managers, developers and internal teams.

    * Conduct quality checks and final inspections prior to handover.

    * Maintain a high standard of health and safety at all times.

    * Manage company vehicle, tools and equipment responsibly.

    * Travel between multiple housing developments across your local area

    Essential Requirements

    * Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

    * City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.

    * Previous experience commissioning electrical installations.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * Strong understanding of electrical testing and fault finding.

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

    * Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

    Desirable Requirements

    * Solar PV qualification or previous Solar PV experience.

    * Experience working on new build residential developments.

    * ECS Gold Card.

    * Knowledge of battery storage systems.

    * Renewable energy industry experience
