We are working with a leading international law firm to appoint a Risk Lawyer. This highly visible role will provide legal advice across the business, working closely with the General Counsel and senior stakeholders on commercial, regulatory, data protection and technology risk matters.
The firm is seeking a qualified lawyer with relevant compliance experience, ideally gained within a UK law firm, financial institution or regulator. You will bring excellent drafting, communication and organisational skills, commercial judgement, attention to detail and the confidence to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
The responsibilities will include:
- Advising the General Counsel and COLP on non-contentious legal risk matters, including general queries, policies, procedures and firm-wide projects.
- Leading the management and review of commercial and client-related contracts and terms of business.
- Acting as a trusted adviser on data protection and technology risk issues, working with the Risk and Compliance and data protection teams.
- Monitoring regulatory developments, assessing their impact on existing processes and implementing necessary changes.
- Preparing and delivering regulatory training within the department and, where appropriate, across the firm.
- Supporting colleagues’ learning and professional development, including taking on line management responsibilities where appropriate.
- Mentoring more junior members of the wider Risk and Compliance team and contributing to ad hoc projects.
- Managing a varied workload proactively, balancing competing priorities and providing clear, commercially focused advice.
