Are you an experienced Air Conditioning, HVAC or Refrigeration professional looking to move into a client-side contract management role?
This position offers the opportunity to use your technical knowledge to improve contractor performance, drive service standards and oversee the maintenance of a large multi-site estate. Rather than carrying out the maintenance yourself, you'll ensure specialist contractors deliver safe, compliant and high-quality work across a diverse property portfolio.
If you've previously worked as an Air Conditioning Engineer, HVAC Engineer, Refrigeration Engineer or Service Manager and enjoy improving standards, building supplier relationships and solving technical issues, this could be the next step in your career.
The Role
Reporting into the engineering leadership team, you'll be responsible for managing external maintenance providers delivering planned and reactive air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration services.
This is a varied role combining office-based planning with regular site visits, giving you the opportunity to influence service delivery across multiple locations.
Hybrid working is available with a minimum of two days each week based from the Deeside office.
Key Responsibilities
Manage third-party contractors against agreed KPIs, SLAs and contractual obligations.
Carry out technical audits and site inspections to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
Investigate equipment failures and recurring defects, identifying long-term solutions.
Drive improvements in asset reliability, compliance and service quality.
Review contractor performance and hold suppliers accountable for delivery.
Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency.
Build strong working relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.
Monitor compliance with statutory maintenance requirements and engineering standards.
Support continuous improvement across air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration maintenance activities.
What You'll Need
To be successful, you'll ideally have experience within commercial Air Conditioning, HVAC or Refrigeration maintenance and understand the challenges of managing engineering contractors across multiple sites.
You'll also have:
A strong technical background within Air Conditioning, HVAC or Refrigeration.
Experience managing contractors, suppliers or engineering service providers.
The ability to interpret performance data and identify trends.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach to improving service delivery and engineering standards.
A full UK driving licence.
Previous experience in facilities management, building services or multi-site maintenance environments would be advantageous.
