How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Committed to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement, the organisation develops industry-recognised qualifications that meet the evolving needs of employers while ensuring compliance with Ofqual requirements and sector regulations. Employees enjoy a collaborative working environment, flexible hybrid working, and genuine opportunities to influence qualification development across the UK skills sector.

Benefits

* Competitive salary of £43,000 – £45,000 per annum.

* Hybrid working with flexible office attendance.

* 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional birthday holiday.

* Workplace pension scheme.

* Specsavers premium optical care scheme.

* Cycle to Work Scheme.

* Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.

* Opportunity to shape nationally recognised electrotechnical qualifications.

The Role

As Electrical Qualifications Manager, you will lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of regulated qualifications, assessment strategies, and examination materials within the Electrotechnical sector. Working collaboratively with technical experts, quality teams, external verifiers, and industry stakeholders, you'll ensure qualifications remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with current legislation, industry standards, and employer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, review, and maintain regulated Electrotechnical qualifications, assessment materials, and examination content to meet industry and regulatory requirements.

* Monitor changes to legislation, technical standards, and industry best practice, ensuring qualifications remain current, compliant, and fit for purpose.

* Design and implement robust assessment strategies that support high-quality learner outcomes and regulatory compliance.

* Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Compliance, Operations, and Product Development teams to maintain qualification excellence.

* Manage and support qualification writers, assessment developers, technical specialists, and external subject matter experts.

* Review and improve examination papers, assessment documentation, and learner guidance to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.

* Represent the organisation at industry forums, technical committees, employer groups, and sector events.

* Promote accessibility, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout qualification design and assessment development.

* Provide technical guidance and support to approved centres, training providers, and stakeholders on qualification delivery and assessment requirements.

* Contribute to external quality assurance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and future product development across the qualification portfolio.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced qualifications or quality professional with strong technical expertise in the Electrotechnical or Building Services Engineering sector and a proven background within an Awarding Organisation, Further Education, Apprenticeships, or vocational qualifications environment.

You Will Have

* A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrotechnical, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

* Experience developing regulated qualifications, assessments, examinations, or vocational learning products within an Awarding Organisation.

* Strong knowledge of Ofqual requirements, qualification development, assessment design, and quality assurance processes.

* Experience supporting apprenticeships, vocational qualifications, technical education, or workforce development programmes.

* Knowledge of external quality assurance, verification, moderation, assessment methodologies, and qualification compliance.

* Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

* Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple qualification development projects.

* Proficiency using Microsoft Office and digital systems to support qualification development, reporting, and document management.
