How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Join Yeovil College as a Business Assessor Programme Manager and play a key role in developing the next generation of business professionals. You’ll bring your industry knowledge, coaching skills and passion for apprenticeships to help learners build the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to succeed.

You’ll manage a caseload of around 55–75 apprentices, delivering high-quality on- and off-the-job training, coaching, assessment and support from enrolment through to Gateway and End Point Assessment. Working closely with apprentices, employers and colleagues, you’ll create structured learning plans, set and monitor milestones, carry out regular progress reviews and ensure the required off-the-job training, Functional Skills and qualifications are completed and accurately recorded. You’ll use Smart Assessor to track progress and evidence achievement, ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards, funding rules and awarding organisation requirements, and identify and overcome barriers to progress. You’ll also contribute to the development of apprenticeship standards and learner journeys, support recruitment and curriculum planning, participate in quality assurance and standardisation, and work collaboratively across the College to deliver an outstanding apprentice experience. What we're looking for:

*

Strong industry expertise – at least 3 years’ practical experience in the relevant business area, with the occupational knowledge and qualifications to support apprentice development.

*

A commitment to learner success – able to set challenging but achievable targets, motivate apprentices and provide effective support to help them achieve.

*

Teaching and assessment capability – an assessing or teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.

*

Confident digital skills – comfortable using IT and online portfolio systems to support learning, assessment and progress.

*

Excellent communication skills – able to build positive, professional relationships with apprentices, employers and colleagues.

*

Organised and proactive – able to use your initiative, work collaboratively and represent Yeovil College professionally.

Annual Salary: £36,013 to £39,917 depending on experience

Full-time position, 37 hours per week, all year round or substantial part time
