Engineering Manager

Global Engineering Leadership Role | Automotive / Aerospace / Advanced Manufacturing
International Travel Required on occasion to our international plants located in Romania, India and Mexico

Our Teconnex site is now recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead and develop our engineering function across a global organisation operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments. Leading a team of 8.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary engineering activities across Product Design & Development, Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Engineering Support Functions. In addition to leading local engineering teams, you will operate as a global technical authority, driving alignment, governance, engineering standards, and best practice across international subsidiaries.

What You’ll Be Doing

🔹 Lead and deliver engineering strategy aligned to business objectives
🔹 Drive engineering excellence across product development, industrialisation, and project delivery
🔹 Develop and implement global engineering standards, processes, and governance frameworks
🔹 Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring delivery to quality, cost, and timing targets
🔹 Provide technical leadership and guidance across international engineering teams
🔹 Align engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices globally
🔹 Manage engineering risk, validation, APQP, PPAP, and change management processes
🔹 Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
🔹 Coach and develop engineering capability across the organisation
🔹 Support innovation, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

✔ Extensive engineering leadership experience within automotive, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments
✔ Strong understanding of product development, design engineering, project engineering, and manufacturing processes
✔ Proven ability to lead complex engineering programmes and multidisciplinary teams
✔ Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, structured product development, and engineering governance
✔ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
✔ Experience driving continuous improvement and organisational capability development
✔ Familiarity with standards such as IATF 16949 and/or AS9100

Desirable Experience

⭐ Experience working within global or multi-site engineering organisations
⭐ Experience supporting organisational transformation or restructuring
⭐ Exposure to product strategy or technology roadmap development
⭐ Project management qualifications
⭐ Membership of a recognised engineering institution (e.g. IMechE)

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience.
