Client Overview
Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design, development, and support of advanced mechanical systems. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development and improvement of innovative engineering solutions.
Job Responsibilities
* Design and develop rotating mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring designs meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
* Improve existing products by analysing performance data, identifying design enhancements, and resolving technical issues.
* Develop bespoke engineering solutions to meet customer requirements and provide technical support throughout the sales, manufacturing, and commissioning process.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, testing, installation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills Required
* HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in designing rotating mechanical parts or machinery.
* Strong SolidWorks experience, including 3D modelling and technical drawing production.
* Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, CFD, PLM systems, and engineering analysis tools would be advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
