The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client is seeking an experienced Structural or Senior Structural Engineer to join their established consultancy, delivering projects across the commercial and residential sectors.
This is a home-based role with a regional workload centred around Leeds, offering a high level of flexibility and autonomy.
The successful candidate will undertake structural inspections, assessments and calculations for a diverse portfolio of new and existing buildings.
Responsibilities will include:
Structural surveys and inspections
Beam and steelwork design
Structural calculations for roofs and other building elements
Assessments of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures
Producing clear technical reports and recommendations
Liaising directly with clients and managing projects independently
There is also the opportunity to become involved in structural design reviews, feasibility studies and technical due diligence work.
Applicants should hold a recognised Civil or Structural Engineering degree and have experience working independently on a variety of building structures. Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE) is desirable, although engineers working towards chartership are encouraged to apply, with full mentoring and support available.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong structural analysis and design skills
Experience with steel, masonry, concrete and timber structures
Excellent report writing and communication abilities
Confidence managing client relationships and site inspections
A full UK driving licence
