The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
To support the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering designs for water and wastewater projects across the UK. Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you will produce electrical design deliverables, collaborate with senior engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Responsibilities
Produce electrical engineering designs that meet safety, quality and client requirements.
Prepare electrical design calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications for water and wastewater projects.
Develop LV electrical designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
Work closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated design drawings.
Liaise with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client specifications and company procedures.
Assist with design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
Support the implementation and recording of design changes throughout project delivery.
Contribute to estimating design hours for allocated tasks.
Attend client, supplier and internal design meetings as required.
Continue developing technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
3-5 years' electrical design experience within the UK water industry.
Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects.
Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices.
Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of multidisciplinary design environments.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
Experience with ICA, control systems or telemetry.
Knowledge of ATEX design principles.
Experience using Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design software.
