The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Slater Heelis is seeking a talented and ambitious Solicitor with between 3 and 8 years' PQE to join its successful and growing Crime & Regulatory practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and dynamic team recognised for its expertise across privately funded criminal defence and regulatory work.
The Opportunity
You will handle a varied and stimulating caseload, advising individuals and businesses on a broad range of matters including:
* Magistrates' Court proceedings
* Crown Court matters
* Regulatory investigations and enforcement action
* Professional disciplinary proceedings
* Police station representation
* Advisory and pre-charge work
* Complex and high-profile cases alongside senior team members
This is a client-facing role offering significant responsibility from the outset, with the opportunity to develop your advocacy skills and build lasting client relationships while working on high-quality matters.
About You
We are keen to hear from solicitors who:
* Have 3-8 years' PQE gained within criminal law
* Are experienced in managing their own caseload with minimal supervision
* Are confident appearing before the Magistrates' Court and supporting Crown Court proceedings
* Possess excellent communication and client care skills
* Are highly organised, resilient and commercially minded
* Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment
* Are motivated to contribute to the continued success and growth of the team
Experience in regulatory law, professional discipline or related areas would be advantageous but is not essential.
