How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Business Development Manager – Adult Social Care

Location: North of England, with travel as required
    Contract: Full time, permanent
    Salary: Competitive
    Bonus: Discretionary performance-related bonus

    About the role

We are looking for a commercially focused, values-led Business Development Manager to help grow our supported living and complex needs services across the North. This is a key role for an experienced professional who can generate high-quality referrals, build trusted relationships with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards, commissioners and wider partners, and help convert opportunities into sustainable, high-quality services.

You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting referral pathways from enquiry through to delivery, and contributing to the organisation’s growth plans. We remain open to considering a more senior candidate who can demonstrate the ability to generate referrals at scale and operate confidently with senior commissioners and strategic partners.

    What you’ll be doing

Generating new business opportunities and referral pipelines across supported living and complex needs services.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with Local Authority and ICB commissioners, housing partners, case managers and other key stakeholders.
Identifying market opportunities, commissioner priorities, frameworks and service development opportunities across the North.
Working closely with operational, quality, finance and wider internal teams to ensure referrals are progressed effectively from initial enquiry through to delivery.
Supporting tender, framework and proposal activity where required.
Maintaining clear pipeline information and reporting progress against business development KPIs, targets and outcomes.
    About you

    Essential experience, skills and approach

Proven business development experience, ideally within health, social care, supported living, housing or a related sector.
Strong lead generation experience with the confidence and pace to hit the ground running.
Experience working with Local Authority and ICB commissioners.
Excellent stakeholder relationship skills, with the ability to build trust internally and externally.
Commercial acumen and experience achieving business KPIs, targets and outcomes.
    A values-based, hard-working and outcome-focused professional approach.
    Desirable experience

Experience within complex needs, supported living or specialist social care services.
    Established relationships with North-based commissioners.
Experience of managing referrals from initial enquiry through to operational delivery.
    Knowledge of specialist supported living.
Tender management, framework submissions or bid support experience.
Strategic planning experience and the ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to travel across the country to meet business development needs.
    Why join us?

A key opportunity to shape growth across the North and build meaningful commissioner partnerships.
The chance to support the development of person-centred, outcomes-focused supported living services.
A role with autonomy, pace and visibility, working closely with senior leaders across operations, quality, finance and service development.
A discretionary performance-related bonus linked to contribution and outcomes
