We’re looking for a Commercial & Bid Specialist to join our UK team at Optimas International. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, building strong relationships and using their commercial judgement to help win new business and drive profitability.

Optimas International is a multinational distributor of integrated supply chain solutions, fasteners, components, and industrial and safety supplies, supported by engineering expertise and local teams around the world.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Head of Commercial & Bid UK, you’ll play an important role in supporting both new and existing business. You’ll work across customers, suppliers, Supply Chain and internal stakeholders to develop competitive commercial offers, support negotiations and identify opportunities to improve win rates and profitability.

This is a role where you can make a tangible difference - balancing customer requirements with commercial objectives and helping the business get the deal done.

What you’ll be doing

* Supporting new business opportunities and developing competitive commercial offers.

* Reviewing customer enquiries and quotations to maximise win opportunities and profitability.

* Working directly with customers to support commercial discussions and negotiations.

* Building strong, collaborative relationships with key customers and suppliers.

* Negotiating with suppliers and working with Supply Chain to ensure our commercial position remains competitive.

* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within new and existing business.

* Working cross-functionally to ensure customer requests are handled efficiently and effectively.

* Supporting KPI performance and ensuring agreed commercial processes and best practice are followed.

* Helping to close quotations and opportunities in real time to drive business growth.

These responsibilities reflect the role's strong emphasis on quotations, commercial negotiation, stakeholder collaboration and converting opportunities into profitable business.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be commercially focused, results driven and confident working with a range of stakeholders. You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, alongside an organised and accountable approach and the ability to work effectively across different functions. Previous fastener or product knowledge would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
