How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Impact Student Partners is a specialist Non-Medical Help (NMH) provider supporting students in Higher Education through Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). We work in partnership with universities and colleges across the UK to provide high-quality support for students with mental health conditions, neurodivergence, specific learning differences, long term health conditions, and other disabilities.
Our mission is simple: to empower students to overcome barriers, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their academic potential.
We believe exceptional support starts with truly understanding the individual. By taking the time to get to know each student's unique circumstances, strengths, challenges, goals, and preferences, we are able to provide genuinely personalised, one-to-one support that reflects their specific needs. This tailored approach helps students build sustainable strategies, develop confidence, and achieve meaningful progress throughout their university journey.
About the Role
Specialist Study Skills Tutors (ASC) support autistic students in Higher Education to develop the skills, strategies, and confidence required to become successful and independent learners. We are looking for ASC Tutors who can provide on Campus, face to face support at Universities across the North East, including Northumbria, Newcastle and/or Durham.
Students with ASC can experience barriers relating to organisation, time management, executive functioning, attention, communication, sensory processing, adapting to change, managing workloads, and navigating the academic and social demands of university life. Through tailored, one-to-one support, you will help students identify these barriers and develop practical strategies to overcome them.
The purpose of the role is to provide highly specialised study skills support that enables students to maximise their strengths, develop independence, and achieve their academic goals. Support is always personalised to the individual student and may include areas such as planning and organisation, attention and concentration strategies, managing larger assignments, academic reading and writing techniques, memory strategies, revision techniques, problem-solving, and effective use of assistive technology.
Every student is different, and no two support plans are the same. A key part of the role involves building a strong professional relationship with students, understanding how their autism impacts their learning experience, and developing tailored approaches that support their individual learning preferences and goals.
Specialist Study Skills support is not subject-specific. However, students' course materials may be used as a framework through which learning strategies and study skills are developed.
Pay and Benefits
* £39.00 per hour (including £4.22 per hour holiday pay, rolled-up rate), workplace pension scheme, CPD and training opportunities, peer networking and mentoring opportunities, and a dedicated consultant and ongoing support
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver Specialist Study Skills (ASC) sessions in accordance with DSA guidance and Impact Student Partners' quality standards.
* Develop tailored support strategies based on each student's Needs Assessment Report, learning profile, strengths, challenges, and agreed outcomes.
* Build positive and effective professional relationships that encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
Support students with:
Organisation, planning, and prioritising workloads.
Time management and meeting academic deadlines.
Executive functioning skills.
Developing effective study routines and learning strategies.
Attention, concentration, and focus.

Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Building confidence and self-advocacy skills.
Developing independence and resilience in Higher Education.
Effective use of assistive technology and learning tools where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate and timely records, including session reports and support documentation.
* Identify and appropriately escalate safeguarding or wellbeing concerns in line with company procedures.
* Represent Impact Student Partners in a professional manner and comply with all company policies and procedures.
* Participate in supervision, training, peer networking sessions, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
