Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced, highly competent Telehandler Operator (Telescopic Handler Driver) to join a busy construction development in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are partnering with a leading contractor requiring a safe, attentive plant operator to take charge of site material movement, loading/unloading deliveries, and supporting trades on site.
If you are a Telehandler Driver who takes pride in safe machine operation, holds valid safety-critical medical clearance, and wants to lock in a strong rate on a local site, we have immediate starts available now.
The Role
Machine Operation: Operating a telescopic handler safely and efficiently to lift, transport, and position materials across a busy construction site.
Delivery Logistics: Offloading material deliveries, logging stock, and distributing supplies to sub-contractors and trades in a timely manner.
Site Support: Assisting site management with loading out materials for elevated work platforms, bricklayers, and structural gangs.
Maintenance & Inspections: Carrying out daily pre-start plant checks, maintaining machine cleanliness, and reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
Site Safety: Operating strictly to site RAMS, pedestrian segregation rules, and site speed limits at all times.
Requirements
CPCS / NPORS Card: A valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler ticket (All Sizes / Rough Terrain) is mandatory.
Medical Clearance: A valid Safety Critical Medical certificate is mandatory.
PPE: Full standard 5-point PPE (Hard Hat, High-Vis Vest/Jacket, Safety Boots, Gloves, and Safety Glasses).
Experience: Proven track record operating telehandlers on live commercial or residential construction sites.
Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
