Warehouse Planning Manager

Location: Glossop, Derbyshire
Salary: £40,000
Contract: Full Time (37.5 hours)
Working Pattern: Onsite - flexibility required within a 24/7 operation

The Opportunity

We're recruiting for a Warehouse Planning Manager to join a fast‑paced warehouse operation where planning genuinely drives performance.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail and working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Operations to make plans work in practice, not just on paper.

Key Responsibilities

Own the daily and weekly warehouse planning cycle
Convert forecast demand into clear, achievable operational plans
Balance labour, capacity and space constraints to maintain consistent flow
Lead short‑term planning reviews, highlighting risks and trade‑offs early
Maintain plan stability and reduce last‑minute change and firefighting
Work closely with Warehouse Operations to align priorities and execution
Improve planning tools, processes and ways of working over time
Take full ownership of short‑term planning performance and outcomes

What We're Looking For

Strong experience in warehouse or operational planning within logistics or distribution
Good understanding of warehouse flow, labour planning, capacity and space
Confident user of WMS, ERP or planning systems
Comfortable in fast‑moving, changeable environments
A practical, delivery‑focused approach rather than theoretical planning

Ideal Candidate Profile

Operationally minded and commercially aware
Experience in Warehouse Planning
Clear communicator who can make decisions when constraints compete
Structured but pragmatic-keeps things simple and workable
Calm under pressure, particularly during peak periods
Collaborative, with the credibility to influence operational teams
