About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Regional Commissioning Manager to support delivery across their AMP8 Thames Water programme. Reporting to the Senior Commissioning Manager, this role will take ownership of commissioning activities across a designated region, ensuring efficient delivery through all stages of the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities, driving safe and effective integration of assets, and ensuring seamless project handover. This is a leadership position with responsibility for both people management and technical delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Resource and line management within the appointed hub/area
Mentoring and managing apprentices and graduates
Day-to-day management and coordination of commissioning and commissioning planning activities
Planning and overseeing process commissioning and testing activities
Ensuring commissioning is carried out safely in line with regulations and procedures
Undertaking hands-on commissioning activities when required
Securing stakeholder buy-in to commissioning plans and ensuring smooth asset integration
Acting as Commissioning Manager for Hazard Studies 4, 5 and 6
Collaborating with other regional teams to share best practice
Working closely with engineering teams to ensure "design for commissioning"
Preparing and delivering training plans, including coordination with equipment suppliers
Facilitating continuous improvement through commissioning feedback
Managing off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities
Ensuring timely production of commissioning documentation and O&M manuals About you:
Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, or process) or equivalent qualification
Proven hands-on commissioning experience, ideally within the water industry
Previous experience operating as a Commissioning Manager in a similar environment
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Solid understanding of commissioning processes across the full project lifecycle
SAP qualification (desirable)
