The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Rate: £500 per day + £50 lodge allowance (if eligible)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (07:30 – 17:00)

About the Role
Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Agent to join a major infrastructure project based within the Devonport Dock framework in Plymouth.
This role will see you take full responsibility for delivering a section of works, ensuring technical compliance with design specifications while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme performance.
Due to the nature of the project, you will be working within a live, highly regulated site.
Key Responsibilities
Programme and manage works to ensure timely delivery
Monitor commercial performance and effectively utilise project resources
Support the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures
Take ownership of project financial performance, including:
Forecasting and cost control
Cost vs value reviews
Commercial reporting
Maintain accurate records of labour, plant, materials, and supply chain usage
Ensure works are delivered in line with technical specifications
Lead client interfaces and manage project delivery across both technical and business aspects
Requirements
Relevant qualification (HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Construction/Engineering)
SSSTS or SMSTS certification
Experience working in civil engineering environments, particularly:
Groundworks
Reinforced concrete
Strong understanding of commercial processes
Experience producing RAMS and working with Quality Management Systems
Proven leadership and project management skills
Strong communication and organisational ability
Experience using surveying equipment such as Leica (GPS, Total Station, levels)
Desirable
Experience in earthworks and large-scale infrastructure projects
Experience working in highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear or defence)
Working towards Chartership (ICE, IStructE, or similar)
Security & Eligibility Requirements
Due to the nature of this project:
BPSS security clearance is required (can take up to 8 weeks)
Candidates must:
Hold a valid passport from a NATO or MISWG member country
Have resided in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
