Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time
About the Role
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing project delivery team.
This is a mechanically led project management position, suited to someone who has come from a mechanical contracting, building services or mechanical engineering project delivery background. You will be responsible for managing mechanical projects from pre-construction and planning through to delivery, commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical building services and the practical delivery of mechanical installation projects. This is not a general construction or facilities management position; we are looking for someone whose core experience is in mechanical project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical projects from initial planning through to completion and handover
* Take responsibility for project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance
* Manage mechanical installation packages and coordinate subcontractors and specialist contractors
* Work closely with clients, consultants, engineers, suppliers and site teams
* Review drawings, specifications and project requirements to ensure works are delivered correctly
* Manage procurement, subcontractor appointments and supplier relationships
* Monitor project progress, costs, variations and change control
* Identify and manage project risks, technical issues and delivery challenges
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards
* Attend site meetings and provide regular project updates to clients and senior management
* Oversee commissioning, snagging and final handover
* Ensure appropriate project documentation and records are maintained
* Work collaboratively with the wider M&E, commercial and operational teams
About You
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with:
* Proven experience managing mechanical installation projects
* A background within mechanical contracting, building services or mechanical engineering
* Good knowledge of mechanical building services and project delivery
* Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
* Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, variations and cost control
* Experience working with project programmes, procurement and project documentation
* Strong client and stakeholder management skills
* The ability to understand mechanical drawings, specifications and technical requirements
* Experience working to relevant health, safety and quality standards
* JCT and/or NEC contract experience would be advantageous
Candidates may currently be working as a Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Contracts Manager or in a similar mechanically focused project delivery position.
