The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Escape Recruitment is working with a growing high-tech manufacturer in Glasgow who is looking to appoint a Supply Chain and Purchasing Lead.
This is a hands-on role covering procurement, planning, logistics and inventory management. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of supply chain activities whilst growing with the business. You will be responsible for keeping materials flowing into production and finished goods out to customers.
This is a broad, hands-on role focused on doing the work, not just managing it.
Placing purchase orders and managing supplier relationships
Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers (including building a local supply base)
Planning materials and production using MRP and BOMs
Managing inventory, stock levels and traceability
Organising inbound and outbound shipments (including international)
Handling goods in, stores and issuing to production
Working closely with engineering, quality and production teamsExperience and knowledge required for the role:
Proven experience in supply chain, procurement and material/production planning
Background in a technical or complex manufacturing environment (e.g. electronics, engineering, medical devices, aerospace or similar)
Comfortable working with MRP systems and BOMs
Strong understanding of inventory control and planning
Experience dealing with high-value or technically complex components
