Are you a graduate looking to kick-start a career in teaching but not quite ready to commit to a PGCE?
PK Education are working with a number of secondary schools across Sheffield who are offering an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to step into the classroom as a Graduate Trainee Teacher. This role is designed to give you real, hands-on experience, helping you build the confidence and skills needed to progress into teacher training.
You’ll gain exposure to a variety of subjects and year groups, develop your classroom presence, and learn how to manage behaviour and deliver lessons in a supportive school environment.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be leading lessons using pre-prepared materials set by teaching staff, stepping in to ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence. Over time, you’ll build confidence managing full classes, keeping students engaged, and maintaining a positive learning environment. You’ll also have opportunities to support students more closely, work alongside experienced teachers, and gain insight into day-to-day school life.

What we’re looking for
A graduate or aspiring teacher with a genuine interest in education. Someone confident, proactive, and willing to step outside their comfort zone. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students quickly. Any experience working with young people is beneficial, but not essential.
