How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Start Date: September 2026
Full Time | Temporary | Long-Term
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

About the Role

Teach Now is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire from September 2026. This is a long-term, full-time role supporting a Year 6 class, with a focus on helping pupils succeed academically while preparing confidently for their transition to secondary school.

You will play a key role in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, working closely with teaching staff and providing both general classroom support and targeted SEN assistance.

This inclusive school welcomes applicants of all faiths and backgrounds. While the school operates within a Jewish ethos, prior experience in this environment is not required—only a respectful and open approach.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide general classroom support within a Year 6 setting
• Deliver and support small group interventions
• Offer 1:1 SEN support for a designated pupil
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo
• Support pupils academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and confidence
• Help create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment

About You

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is:

• Calm, patient, and resilient, with a nurturing approach
• Experienced working with primary-aged pupils (KS2 or Year 6 preferred)
• Knowledgeable or experienced in SEN support, particularly 1:1
• A strong communicator who can build relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Adaptable, proactive, and positive in supporting learning
• Respectful and comfortable working within a Jewish school environment
• Ideally a driver with access to a car (due to limited public transport)

About the School

This is a friendly, inclusive primary school in Hertfordshire with a strong community ethos. The school is committed to supporting every childs academic success and personal development, particularly at the crucial Year 6 stage. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils feel confident, supported, and ready for the next step in their education.

What We Offer
• Competitive daily pay: £101 – £105 per day
• Long-term opportunity with potential for progression
• Support from a dedicated Teach Now consultant
• Access to training and professional development
• Opportunity to make a real impact in pupils final year of primary school
