Production Coordinator – Manufacturing

Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing company, based in Wymondham are currently seeking a Production Coordinator, to cover maternity leave.

This role will initially be a fixed-term contract, with potential opportunities to follow, for the right candidate

You will report to the AGM (Manufacturing) and be responsible for understanding, planning, scheduling and coordinating the production operation of specific projects, involving the manufacture and assembly of multiple Carbon Fibre component parts to strict deadlines, in line with customer expectations.

You will play a key role in collaborating with engineers, monitoring production schedules, analysing metrics, and implementing efficient processes and systems to ensure successful project delivery.

Experience/Skills:

* Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Proven track record in project planning, scheduling, and coordination. Understanding of carbon fibre components or similar manufacturing processes. Capability and understanding of Project management and production management software.

* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret production metrics and KPIs. Proficiency in using relevant software and project support tools and applied theory.

* Problem-Solving Ability: Proactive problem solver with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions independently. Demonstrates ability to handle unexpected challenges and make timely decisions.

* Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.

* Adaptability: Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies. Ability to embrace and encourage change with a positive and inclusive outlook.

* Decision Making and Collaboration: Confidence in decision-making and strength of character. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and support change management initiatives.

* Continuous Improvement: A commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for efficiency and enhancement. Experience in implementing process improvements within a manufacturing or production setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planning and Scheduling: Work closely with engineers from the enquiry stage to develop a production schedule, considering relevant risks and planning contingencies. Ensure the production schedule aligns with the project plan and meets customer expectations.

* Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor production schedules using available tools to ensure timely completion of projects. Collect and analyse staff and production metrics and KPIs, utilising systems such as Progress Plus to enhance efficiencies at all levels. Supporting manufacturing projects.

* Production and Project Close Down Meetings: Chair production meetings, reporting deficiencies, actions, and resolutions. Collaborate with project stakeholders and management to implement regular project reviews and incorporate learnings into future projects chairing wash-up/lessons learned/project close-down and retrospective meetings.

* Facilitating Communication and Collaboration for Production Deliverables: Foster effective communication and collaboration with external and internal stakeholders for the end-to-end flow of production.

* Theory into Practice: Contribute to the manufacturing process, emphasising a commitment to quality management and safety. Align with business objectives by adhering to established policies, procedures, and operational guidelines within the quality management system specific to the manufacturing environment. Integrate these principles into project coordination efforts, ensuring a focus on safety and quality within the manufacturing support functions.

* Training and Continuous Improvement: Complete any training deemed necessary for the performance of your role. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing production process.

* Ad-Hoc Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by management and within the scope of your skills and competencies.

Education and Qualifications:

* Higher education in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
