Key Responsibilities:
🔌 Control Panel Design
• Design custom electrical control panels for web transport and automation machinery
• Select appropriate components (e.g., PLCs, drives, safety relays, power supplies, breakers)
🔌 Electrical Drawings & Schematics
• Create detailed electrical schematics, including:
* Control circuits
* Power distribution
* Safety systems
* I/O wiring
- Produce wiring diagrams between control panels and machinery (motors, sensors, actuators, encoders, HMIs, etc.)
🔌 Machine Integration
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure proper interface between machinery and controls
• Specify cable routing, connector types, field wiring schedules, and termination details
🔌 Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation
• Generate accurate and complete BOMs for all electrical components
• Ensure component selections meet relevant standards and project requirements
🔌 Compliance & Standards
• Design to electrical and safety standards such as:
* IEC/EN (phone number removed)
* Machinery Directive
* UL/CE (as required)
-Ensure proper documentation for panel build and machine certification
🔌 Support & Collaboration
• Support the panel shop during build and testing
• Provide technical assistance during commissioning and fault finding
• Work with suppliers to select cost-effective and reliable components
Required Skills & Experience:
✅ Strong experience with industrial control systems and panel design
✅ Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as: EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar
✅ Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, safety systems, motion control, sensors, and fieldbus networks
✅ Ability to produce clear and detailed documentation for manufacturing
✅ Knowledge of machinery safety standards and industrial automation practices
Preferred Qualifications:
🎓 Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
⚙️ Experience with web handling, converting, printing, or packaging machinery
⚙️ Familiarity with Siemens or Allen Bradley systems
⚙️ Experience designing systems using servo motors and motion control
