How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer | Accrington | Competitive Salary | Permanent

    Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems and keeping machinery performing at its best?

    Isothane, based in Accrington, is looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join the team and play a key role in keeping plant, equipment and production running smoothly.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, gets stuck into mechanical problems and takes pride in finding solutions rather than simply putting a temporary fix in place.

    The Maintenance Engineer Role

    You will ensure smooth and reliable operation of equipment and machinery by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing repairs, along with fast and effective response to equipment break downs.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
    Carry out routine statutory maintenance
    Complete ad hoc repairs to various mechanical equipment
    Maintenance of plant equipment and pumps
    Prioritising workload throughout shift
    Good and effective communication with all departments across site
    Work collaboratively with the production staff
    Suggest and implement improvements
    Attend meetings as appropriate
    Keep up to date records for audits
    Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience:

    Experience working with pumps, mixers.
    Organisational skills.
    Time management skills.
    Computer literate.
    Effective teamwork.
    Desirable

    Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
    Knowledge of tanks and bulk tank systems
    Knowledge of electrical systems
    Previous experience of working at height/within confined spaces
