The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Responsible for calibrating measuring instrumentation and repair facilities to both ISO9001 and UKAS accredited in accordance with Company Procedures, UKAS regulations, recognised specifications, etc.
Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilizing EMS management systems.
About the Role
•Perform calibration of customer equipment using approved procedures and good Metrology practice. Calibrating Force, Torque or Dimensional measuring instrumentation to traceable and accredited standards.
•Ensure all certificates and records are completed accurately; check completion dates and worksheet instructions to ensure work is completed on time.
•Participate in UKAS and customer surveillance and accreditation audits.
•Perform periodic measurements of the Laboratory standards as dictated by the Head of Laboratory or equivalent.
•Perform internal cross comparison audits within the Laboratory.
•Produce and audit automated and manual calibration procedures for use within the Laboratory for customer calibration.
•Develop measurement uncertainty budgets for customer calibrations.
•Conduct all duties in accordance with Company Health and Safety procedures and policies.
•Provide technical support to colleagues on request in line with capability.
•Additional reasonable duties as required by the role and Career Level.

Requirements
•Ideally a technical qualification such as HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above.
•Good understanding of calibration practices and theories.
•Knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
•Ability to create and calculate uncertainty of measurement.
•Good understanding of Windows-based (Excel and Word) and laboratory automation software.
•Experience of working within a customer focussed environment.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to work with the minimum of supervision & manage your own workload
•The ability to understand / interpret specifications/Technical drawings will be advantageous
