The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

At Farleys, our Actions Against Detaining Authorities (AADA) team represents individuals and families through some of the most challenging experiences of their lives. From abuse claims and actions against public authorities to inquests and compensation claims, we help clients seek answers, accountability and justice. The department specialises in abuse claims, claims against local authorities and social services, actions against public authorities and inquest-related work.
As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and compassionate Paralegal to support our lawyers in delivering exceptional client care and achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients.
The Role
Working alongside experienced solicitors and associates, you will play a key role in supporting a varied caseload of sensitive and complex matters.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting fee earners with abuse and civil claims against public authorities
Drafting correspondence, witness statements and legal documents
Reviewing and organising disclosure and evidence
Liaising with clients, experts, counsel and third parties
Preparing court bundles and documentation
Managing case files and maintaining accurate records
Conducting legal research and fact-finding exercises
Providing empathetic support to vulnerable clients throughout their claim
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates who are passionate about claimant work and helping individuals access justice.
You will ideally have:
Previous Paralegal experience within litigation, family, personal injury, inquests, public law or a similar legal environment
A Law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
The confidence to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
