Senior Tekla Detailer
County Durham
£45,000-£50,000 per annum + overtime
Permanent, Full Time

The organisation specialises in structural steelwork design and detailing, delivering high‑quality modelling and drawing packages for a variety of engineering projects. This role supports the drawing office by providing advanced Tekla expertise and managing the complete detailing process from initial drawings to final fabrication outputs.

Key Responsibilities as a Senior Tekla Detailer:

Produce accurate 3D models and drawing packages from engineering drawings

Manage the modelling and detailing workflow through to project completion

Prepare detailed GA drawings and fabrication drawing packages

Raise technical queries when clarification is required

Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects and subcontractors

Attend design team meetings to support project progress

Liaise with internal departments to meet project demands

Assist in training and developing apprentice detailers
Experience Required:

Minimum 20 years' structural steelwork detailing experience

Minimum 15 years' Tekla Structures experience

Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Proven capability to work independently and manage workload

Experience coordinating with multiple project stakeholders

Knowledge of quality assurance procedures

Ability to produce standard GA and fabrication drawings

Experience raising technical queries professionally
