The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We're working with a leading civil and structural engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to take a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality development infrastructure projects.
The Role
You'll lead the design and delivery of drainage, SuDS, highways, flood risk, and utilities schemes across residential, commercial, education, and leisure developments. Working closely with architects, planners, and multi-disciplinary teams, you'll help drive projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead drainage, SuDS, highways, and infrastructure design, produce technical reports for planning and detailed design, and deliver flood risk and site development strategies. The role also involves coordinating with clients, consultants, and authorities, using modern digital tools and 3D design techniques, and mentoring junior engineers while supporting technical delivery across projects.
About You
You will have strong experience in civil development infrastructure design, with skills in drainage, highways, utilities, and flood risk. You should be proficient in relevant design software and either be chartered or working towards CEng (ICE/CIWEM). You will be a clear communicator with a proactive, design-led mindset.
