This is a hands-on, site-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys working on large-scale industrial systems rather than clean or factory-only environments.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and fault finding of heavy industrial equipment on customer sites.
This is a highly site-based position, with current project work focused in North Yorkshire and Cornwall, alongside wider UK support.

Comes from a heavy industrial background (e.g. oil & gas, power generation, mining, steel, rail)
Is hands-on electrically, comfortable working on large industrial machinery and systems
Has experience across installation, testing, and fault finding in live environments
Is confident working on-site for extended periods, not just office or design-based rolesControls & PLC Exposure
Experience with Siemens S7 (1200/1500) is important
You do not need to be a software engineer
You do need to be comfortable fault finding across electrical and PLC-controlled systems

Coordinate and carry out electrical commissioning activities on-site
Support installation and oversee system integration
Perform testing, validation, and fault finding on equipment
Produce reports and ensure compliance with technical specifications

Time-served engineer with an electrical or multi-skilled background
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
Strong problem-solving skills
