About The Role:
Responsible for coordinating compliance and maintenance activities across construction and facilities operations, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met. Maintains accurate and up-to-date compliance records, monitors certification and inspection schedules, and liaises with contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance obligations are completed on time.
Key responsibilities include issuing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks in accordance with maintenance schedules, raising and coordinating reactive maintenance work orders as they arise, tracking progress through to completion, and ensuring all supporting documentation is recorded and filed correctly. The role also involves monitoring service delivery, escalating overdue actions, producing compliance reports, and supporting the efficient management of building assets to maintain safe and compliant environments.
Location: Woodsmith Underground Mine, Sneaton, Whitby YO22 5JE
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 on site.
You will be required to travel to and from site using the Park & Ride service. The bus departs from the Park & Ride at 07:30 and leaves site at 16:05.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate statutory compliance activities and maintain accurate compliance records
- Monitor inspection, testing and certification schedules, ensuring renewals are completed on time
- Raise, issue and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work orders in line with maintenance schedules
- Coordinate reactive maintenance requests and track progress through to completion
- Liaise with contractors, engineers and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely and within agreed timescales
- Maintain audit trails and ensure all maintenance documentation and certification is accurately recorded and filed
- Monitor contractor performance and escalate overdue actions where necessary
- Produce regular compliance and maintenance performance reports
- Support document control and the effective management of building assets
- Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, statutory requirements and company procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across compliance and maintenance processes
About You:
- Previous experience within construction, facilities management, utilities or a similar environment
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities, contractors or project support functions
- Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills
- Experience managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, inspections and certification processes
- An understanding of Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, permits to work and safe systems of work
- Experience maintaining accurate documentation, records and audit trails
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgement
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience using maintenance management, compliance or project management software
- Knowledge of procurement, budgeting or contract administration would be advantageous
