About the Role
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher for a fixed-term paternity cover role, starting in May 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving sixth form environment, delivering A Level Psychology to motivated learners. The successful candidate will ensure continuity of high-quality teaching and support students through a key stage of their academic programme.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons in line with the relevant awarding body specification
Plan and prepare structured lessons and schemes of work to support learner progress.
Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Monitor and track student performance, implementing targeted intervention where required.
Prepare learners effectively for examinations.
Uphold high standards of attendance, behaviour and academic achievement.
Contribute positively to the wider academic team and college community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
Experience teaching Psychology (essential). (FE)
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to student achievement and safeguarding.
