The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

GPS are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician who can carry out engineering activities on site and work generated by the CMMS in order of priority against criticality. You will install/repair/maintain /inspect, mechanical/electrical plant, equipment and services to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, maintain, improve, and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively
* Work in conjunction with operational management and operators
* Respond to technical issues affecting production.
* Maintain services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
* Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
* Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service
* Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
* Comply with Permit to work arrangements
* Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
* Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
* Have an awareness of site policies, procedures, and relevant engineering standards
* Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
* Carry out PPM schedules as necessary
* Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary
* Ensure that contractors are utilised in accordance with company procedures
Key Skills/Experience Required
* Time served with a four- or five-year nationally recognised/approved apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering
* Compex trained and COMAH experience are both highly desirable but not essential
