TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in South Gloucester, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant. The school provides a caring and inclusive learning environment for pupils with complex learning needs and is committed to promoting independence, communication and emotional wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential in a safe and engaging setting.
The school is looking to appoint a part-time SEND Learning Support Assistant to work 3 days per week on a long-term basis. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will be supporting pupils with SLD and PMLD, with a large proportion of children having ASC and SLCN identified as their primary need on their EHCPs. The role will involve supporting learning, communication and sensory needs within the classroom while helping pupils engage positively with their education.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:
Experience working with children or young people with SLD, PMLD, ASC and SLCN
A strong understanding of complex SEND needs and EHCPs
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
The ability to support communication and sensory regulation strategies
Experience working within a school or SEND provision
