As a DT Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the Design & Technology department and ensuring that lessons run safely and effectively.
You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, equipment and resources for practical lessons, while helping to maintain a safe, organised and engaging workshop environment.
The role would suit someone who is practical, organised and confident working with tools, materials and workshop equipment, with a genuine interest in supporting young people in their DT education.
The ideal DT Technician will:
Have previous experience working in a DT, workshop or practical environment
Have good knowledge of tools, materials and workshop equipment
Be confident preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons
Understand the importance of health and safety in a workshop environment
Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
Have a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
Be able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Have strong communication skills and a positive approach
Be enthusiastic about supporting students in developing their practical skills
