Working closely with senior management, you will lead the estimating and bid submission process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, helping drive continued business growth.
The Role
As Estimator / Bid Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates while managing the preparation and submission of high-quality tender documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Managing the full bid and tender process from enquiry through to submission.
* Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
* Preparing pricing schedules, take-offs and cost breakdowns.
* Liaising with clients, consultants and internal teams throughout the tender process.
* Supporting negotiations and post-tender clarifications.
* Maintaining an organised pipeline of tender opportunities and submission deadlines.
* Assisting with continuous improvement of estimating and bid processes.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
* Previous experience as an Estimator, Bid Manager or in a combined estimating/bid management role within the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and tendering procedures.
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while working to strict deadlines.
* A proactive and solution-focused approach.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
