Pay Rate: £14.20 - £14.50 per hour, £50 sleep-in rate. 173.3 hours per month plus approx 11 sleep-ins

This is a small, independent and locally run provider with strong roots in children’s residential care. The leadership team has over 20 years’ experience in delivering high quality children’s homes, supported by robust and capable Responsible Individuals who are actively involved in ensuring consistent standards across the service.

The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team supporting children and young people aged 7 to 17 who may have experienced trauma, neglect or instability in their early lives.
Your role is to provide consistency, warmth and structure in daily life, acting as a positive adult presence and helping young people develop trust, confidence and independence.
This is not a 9-5 role and it's important that you are able to work long shifts, with sleep-in's in between. You'll be contracted to 173.3 hours per month and a typical shift pattern will be either 2 on 4 off, or 2 on 3 off with sleep-in's in between your day shifts.
You’ll support children and young people directly with their day-to-day lives, including:

Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

Creating a safe, calm and nurturing home environment

Supporting education, routines and positive behaviours

Preparing meals and helping with everyday household routines

Supporting school runs, appointments and activities
*
Encouraging social and recreational activities, including trips and holidays

Supporting children to develop confidence, independence and life skills
*
Providing emotional support through positive communication and interaction
*
Promoting respect, boundaries and a sense of belonging within the home
*
Following individual care plans and supporting agreed goals
*
Working alongside colleagues, managers and external professionals
*
Maintaining safeguarding, health and safety and welfare standards
*
Attending team meetings, supervision and ongoing training
*
Completing records and keeping accurate notes about the children’s care and wellbeing
About you
We’re looking for people who genuinely care about making a difference and who can bring patience, consistency and warmth into their work.
You'll have some experience of working with children and young people, residential care would be ideal but other childrens servcies considered.
