Are you an experienced HGV Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager or Fleet Supervisor looking for your next opportunity?
Our client is a well-established HGV transport company seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operation of their busy workshop. This role is ideal for someone who started their career on the tools and has progressed into a supervisory or management position. Applicants from both fleet and dealership backgrounds are welcome.
🔧 The Role
You'll oversee workshop operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards while keeping the fleet compliant, roadworthy and available for service.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
* Manage the daily operation of the HGV workshop
* Plan servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs
* Lead and support a team of HGV Technicians
* Ensure compliance with DVSA, MOT and health & safety standards
* Maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime
* Monitor workshop efficiency, budgets and KPIs
* Oversee parts stock and supplier relationships
🔧 About You
* Previous experience managing an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
* Strong technical knowledge of HGV maintenance
* Good understanding of DVSA regulations and fleet compliance
* Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills
* Relevant HGV or vehicle maintenance qualifications are desirable
* HGV licence advantageous but not essential
