How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    FULL TRAINING PROVIDED, INCLUDING OVERHEAD CRANE AND FLT TRAINING

    Industrial Recruitment Solutions Ltd (IRS) is recruiting for Machine Operators to join a busy and well-established manufacturing company based in West Bromwich.

    This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with full training provided and a significant pay increase once fully trained and qualified.

    Hours

    Monday to Friday, working weekly rotating shifts:

    * 06:00 – 14:00

    * 14:00 – 22:00

    Pay

    * £14.93 per hour during the training and probationary period

    * £17.94 per hour once fully trained and qualified

    Job Duties

    * Setting and operating industrial slitting machines

    * Loading coils onto the slitting lines

    * Monitoring machine performance throughout production

    * Carrying out product inspections and quality checks

    * Operating an overhead crane following successful training

    * Operating an FLT following successful training

    * Ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently

    * Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area

    * Reporting any machine faults or quality concerns

    Requirements

    * Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience is preferred

    * Experience within slitting, steel processing or coil processing would be advantageous but is not essential

    * Willingness to complete overhead crane and FLT training

    * Reliable and punctual with good timekeeping

    * Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team

    * Good attention to detail

    * Strong awareness of workplace health and safety

    * Able to work weekly rotating shifts
