Estimator (Construction) | ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong experience delivering estimating activities within specialist construction or product-led subcontract environments
- Proven hands-on experience using industry estimating and configuration systems such as Orgadata, Logikal, or comparable product-based pricing platforms
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and complex tender documentation with accuracy
- Experience preparing detailed cost breakdowns including materials, labour, fabrication, subcontract, preliminaries, and installation allowances
- Confident producing accurate take-offs and quantity calculations from drawings and system schedules
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost risk, margin exposure, and value engineering opportunities within bids
- Highly organised, detail oriented, and disciplined in managing multiple concurrent tenders to deadline
- Self sufficient, dependable, and comfortable operating in a fast paced pre-construction and tendering environment

- Exposure to technically driven construction packages within façade, envelope, cladding, or specialist subcontract environments
- Familiarity with supplier negotiation, quotation benchmarking, and pricing validation processes
- Experience leading or contributing to value engineering initiatives to enhance competitiveness while protecting margin
- Strong understanding of common contract structures including JCT and design & build environments
- Comfortable managing tender clarifications, commercial queries, and post tender negotiation support
- Experience using advanced Excel cost models, document management platforms, and industry estimating tools alongside product configuration systems

Our client is a specialist contractor delivering technically complex construction packages across commercial and residential developments, and is seeking an experienced Estimator with product-based estimating system expertise to support continued growth within its pre-construction function.
This role is focused on leading the preparation and coordination of competitive tender submissions, managing take-offs, system-based pricing, cost build ups, and supplier engagement across multiple projects.
Working closely with commercial leadership, project delivery teams, and external supply chains, the Estimator will ensure pricing accuracy, risk visibility, and disciplined margin management across all submissions.
This position offers exposure to complex, technically led construction tenders within a growing contractor environment, providing a strong platform to influence revenue performance and commercial outcomes at bid stage.
