Apex Educ8 is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in North West London for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while supporting students in a positive and well-structured environment.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set and maintaining high standards of behaviour across the classroom.
Responsibilities
* Supervise classes across a range of curriculum subjects.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
* Maintain a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
* Promote positive behaviour and follow the school's behaviour policy.
* Support students to remain focused and engaged throughout lessons.
* Record attendance and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and senior leaders.
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and can confidently manage a classroom while building positive relationships with students and staff.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working within a secondary school.
* Excellent behaviour management skills.
* Confident communication and classroom presence.
* Organised, reliable and adaptable.
* A proactive and professional approach.
Desirable Experience
Experience as a:
* Cover Supervisor
* Teaching Assistant
* Behaviour Mentor
* Learning Support Assistant
* Graduate considering a career in teaching
