The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client is a long-established precision engineering business with a heritage dating back to 1938. They specialise in manufacturing ultra-tight tolerance, high-complexity components for aero-engine, power generation and airframe applications, including legacy programmes.
With extensive in-house capability across machining, NDT, heat treatment, pressure testing and specialist cleaning, they maintain full control over quality, lead times and process consistency. They also support legacy spares and reverse engineering projects where components are no longer in production.
The Role
Working within a small, busy inspection team, you will be responsible for inspecting small to medium-sized aerospace components to ensure full compliance with drawing specifications and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Inspection and measurement of precision components using a range of metrology equipment

Interpretation of engineering drawings, technical data and GD&T
*
Development and maintenance of inspection plans
*
Control and management of non-conforming product
*
Conducting internal investigations using 8D, 5 Why and related quality tools
*
Supporting internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits
*
Liaising with production and internal departments on quality matters
*
Maintaining high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Experience Required
*
Experience inspecting precision components within aerospace or a similar engineering environment
*
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
*
Working knowledge of SPC and core quality tools
*
Experience using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D and 5 Why
*
Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise inspection activities effectively
