About the Role:

M&M Demolition is looking for an organised and proactive Purchasing Administrator to join our team and provide day-to-day administrative and purchasing support across the business.

This is an important role within our operations, helping ensure that materials, plant, equipment, services and general supplies are purchased efficiently, competitively and on time.

Working closely with our operational, commercial and finance teams, you will help manage purchase orders, supplier relationships, deliveries, invoices and purchasing records. You'll need to be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment where priorities can change quickly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing, procurement or construction administration experience who wants to develop their career within an established and growing specialist contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

Raise and process purchase orders in line with company procedures.
Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times and delivery requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
Track orders and ensure materials, equipment and services are delivered when required.
Work closely with site and operational teams to understand purchasing requirements.
Assist with sourcing new suppliers and maintaining existing supplier relationships.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on overdue deliveries.
Match purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices, resolving discrepancies where required.
Support the finance team with purchasing and invoice queries.
Maintain accurate records of expenditure and purchasing activity.
Assist with monitoring supplier performance, pricing and lead times.
Ensure purchasing activity follows agreed company processes and authorisation levels.
Provide general administrative support to the purchasing and commercial functions.
Help identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and streamline purchasing processes.
Work in accordance with the company's health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.About You:

We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially minded and dependable, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to communicate with suppliers, colleagues and operational teams.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, buying or purchasing administration.
Experience within construction, demolition, engineering, plant, facilities or a similar industry would be advantageous.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of value for money.
The confidence to chase orders, challenge pricing and resolve issues when required.Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, follows things through and understands that getting the right materials, equipment and services to site at the right time is critical to keeping projects running smoothly.
