The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established £50m turnover civils contractor delivering a portfolio of major infrastructure projects across the Midlands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of a water-biased infrastructure project, with a strong focus on heavy civils and reinforced concrete structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable managing complex construction packages from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the project, managing site teams, subcontractors, commercial performance, programme, health & safety and quality.
You will be expected to provide strong leadership across a technically demanding scheme, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the project from mobilisation through to completion.
- Overall responsibility for programme, delivery, cost, quality and H&S.
- Managing water infrastructure and heavy civils packages.
- Overseeing the construction of reinforced concrete structures, foundations and associated civils.
- Managing earthworks, drainage, underground services and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist supply chains.
- Leading site teams including Site Agents, Engineers and Foremen.
- Reviewing and managing construction programmes and short-term planning.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and ITPs.
- Managing RAMS, WPPs, permits and construction documentation.
- Working closely with the commercial team on change, cost control and forecasting.
- Liaising with clients, designers and stakeholders.
- Driving quality, environmental and health & safety standards across the project.
- Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring successful handover and close-out of works.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector, with a proven background delivering water, heavy civils or similar major infrastructure projects.
You should have strong experience of:
- Water infrastructure projects.
- Heavy civils and complex construction.
- RC structures and reinforced concrete works.
- Earthworks, drainage and below-ground infrastructure.
- Managing multidisciplinary site teams.
- Subcontractor and stakeholder management.
- Programme and project delivery.
- Construction planning and commercial awareness.
- Working within structured QA and H&S systems.
- Delivering projects safely, on programme and to budget.
Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or established civil engineering contractor would be highly advantageous.
