Employee Relations Manager
Location: West Burton – Hybrid (3 days per week)
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £350–£450 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: BPSS
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join a complex and growing organisation on an initial 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER professional to take ownership of complex and high-risk employee relations matters while working closely with senior leaders, managers, employees and trade unions.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice across a broad range of employee relations matters, support organisational change and transformation, and help develop effective ER frameworks and practices within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex and high-risk employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
Provide expert advice on UK employment law and employee relations best practice.
Coach and advise senior leaders and managers on ER matters and workplace culture.
Build effective relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
Support organisational change, transformation, restructuring and workforce initiatives.
Identify employee relations risks and provide practical, proportionate solutions.
Use people data and ER insights to identify trends and support decision-making.
Contribute to the development and implementation of ER policies, processes and frameworks.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Essential Requirements
*
CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent experience.
*
Significant employee relations experience within a complex organisation.
*
Strong experience managing high-risk and complex ER cases.
*
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
*
Proven experience working with trade unions.
*
Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders and managers.
*
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
*
Experience supporting organisational growth, transformation, change or workforce restructuring.
*
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
*
Ability to translate people data and insights into practical solutions.
Desirable Experience
Experience within any of the following environments would be advantageous:
*
Infrastructure, engineering, energy, nuclear, construction, manufacturing, aerospace or defence.
*
Public sector or government-sponsored organisations.
*
Joint ventures or multi-organisational programmes.
*
Newly established or rapidly growing organisations.
*
Employee relations framework design and implementation.
*
Mediation or workplace conflict resolution.
*
Security-cleared environments.
