How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Senior Business Analyst

📍 Location: Birmingham, Hastings, Leeds, Swansea (This role is suitable for hybrid working)

💷 Salary: £44,241 - A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in understanding complex business challenges and translating them into user-centred digital solutions that deliver real value.

Working within the Create Service Line, you'll collaborate with stakeholders, users and multidisciplinary teams to identify needs, analyse processes, and shape improvements that support organisational and policy objectives. You'll lead investigations into business opportunities, define requirements, assess options, and ensure solutions meet both user needs and strategic goals.

You'll build strong relationships across the department, influence decision-making with evidence-based insights, and help drive continuous improvement. The role also offers opportunities to mentor colleagues, champion business analysis best practice, and contribute to the development of the wider profession.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

* You will be an experienced Senior Business Analyst holding the BCS diploma, or be willing to work towards it.

* Good organisational and communication skills with an attention to detail.

* Identifying, investigating and analysing of complex business problems.

* Identifying and comparing the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring.

* Co-ordinating of requirements, management, prioritisation and considerations.

* Experience of delivery of technology based projects.
