How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working pattern or hours: 36 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Key responsibilities:

Contract Management and Delivery Oversight: You will oversee contractor performance, ensuring all maintenance activities are delivered to agreed standards, timelines and budgets while fostering positive and collaborative working relationships.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: You will implement and monitor quality assurance processes and compliance across contracted works, manage performance reporting and ensure risks are identified, addressed and escalated where necessary.
Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement: You will act as the primary interface between Thames Water supervisors and contractor organisations, supporting effective communication, collaboration and timely resolution of issues while encouraging continuous improvement.
What you should bring to the role?

Experience managing contractor delivery within engineering, mechanical or utilities environments.
Experience overseeing planned work, managing budgets and ensuring compliance.
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors while building strong working relationships.

Offering a salary between £55,000 to £68,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Car allowance of £4,500 per annum.
Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
