A top‑tier international law firm with a highly regarded funds practice is seeking to hire a Funds Associate (1–5 PQE) as part of strategic growth within its London investment funds team.
You will join a specialist platform known for:
- Advising leading private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real assets and alternative investment managers
- Acting on sophisticated fund formation, structuring and investor negotiations across multiple asset classes
- Supporting sponsors on the establishment of flagship funds, continuation vehicles and co‑investment structures
- Providing ongoing advisory support across fund operations, governance and regulatory matters
- Working closely with colleagues across private equity, finance, tax and regulatory teams on integrated mandates
- Delivering commercially focused, solutions‑driven advice directly to sponsors, GPs and senior in‑house stakeholders
This is a team operating at the top end of the funds market, advising on complex, high‑value fundraisings where technical excellence, commercial judgement and client management are critical.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of sophisticated funds matters, including:
- Formation and structuring of private equity, private credit and alternative investment funds
- Drafting and negotiating fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs and subscription documents
- Investor negotiations and side letters
- Co‑investment and managed account arrangements
- Fund restructurings, continuation vehicles and secondary transactions
- Ongoing fund advisory work, including governance, regulatory and commercial matters
You will work closely with partners and clients in lean teams, with increasing responsibility for managing workstreams and supporting junior team members.
About You
The team is seeking high‑calibre candidates who:
- Are UK‑qualified with 1–5 PQE in investment funds or private funds work
- Open to considering Aus or NZ candidates (there is a 2 year discount on PQE)
- Have experience gained at a City, leading international or strong regional firm
- Have solid exposure to sponsor‑side fund formation and structuring
- Are technically strong, commercially minded and confident engaging with clients
- Thrive in a collaborative, intellectually demanding and high‑performance environment
