OverviewThe Customs Broker will serve as the first contact for AIT colleagues and customs authorities with regards to customs related queries. This role will ensure optimal, smooth, and timely customs clearance processes.
Responsibilities- Plausibility check of customs-relevant customer data and commissioning
- Declaration of import customs clearances and export clearances
- Ensuring communication with customs authorities
- Preparation of transit documents and monitoring of their closure
- Calculation of duties
- Support and consulting of customers
- Preparation of key figures and statistics
- Compliance with the obligation to retain customs documents
- Deadline control and compliance with completion and submission deadlines
- Handle additional tasks according to specific customer SOP requirements
- Support resolution of local NCR's, complaints, claims
- Support Implementation & continuous improvement for customers
- Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable)
- 3+ years of professional experience as a customs agent/broker
- Good knowledge in customs clearance
- Fluent oral and written English and Dutch is a must
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
- Pro-active, target driven, solutions-oriented and good attention to details
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- VGB security clearance (or the ability to obtain it) is required for this position
