The team implements ideas to be tested with researchers using real data; everything from recommendation systems to interactive pdf annotators, to every social media feature you can think of and beyond into the unknown.
Responsibilities- You will be working with UI engineers to think of new and better ways to interact with users, as needed functionality challenges old paradigms of interaction.
- You will be exploring the possibilities in front-end design and development, while finding the balance between reusability and getting it working.
- Complicated fully interactive apps will have to be developed, as long term tests will need a fully functional prototype.
ROS (Researcher Operating System) Experiments team is a high profile company initiative that drives discovery & validation of early stage concepts through tangible engagement with academic researchers. The team works closely together in short iterations, the environment is fluid and we adapt to a constantly changing landscape (the team is prototyping the future, after all). Team members are all very motivated, professional, experts in their fields, and we expect this from all members in the team.
You will be based in Amsterdam (where we have a very nice coffee bar) reporting to the Tech Lead ROS Experiments team.
What you should bring- MSc or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years product development experience
- Experience with back-end technologies are considered a plus
- Experience collaborating with designers to explore possibilities through visual and interactive mockups and translate into code and markup
- Used to working in an agile environment and experience with agile development practices (pair programming, tdd, ci/cd, etc)
- Comfortable working from high-level, imprecise and changing requirements
- Comfortable to share your opinion in discussions about new product ideas, concepts and functionality
- Strong communicator in English; verbal, written and good interpersonal skills
For this position, occasional traveling might be required.
